A Pure Heart

One who loves a pure heart and who speaks with grace will have the King for a friend.

Proverb 22:11

This proverb reveals a secret. How do we draw near to God?  First, we must desire a pure heart. Our motives and intentions must be single-not mixed with doubt, questionable motives, selfishness or other besetting sins. Of course each one of us is a work in progress, but we must desire to be harmless and innocent children of The Most High God.

Jesus said that the pure in heart are blessed and they will see God! As our hearts seek to know Him alone as our first love, we will find Him, perceive Him in greater and greater measure. What earthly treasures could possibly compare to knowing Jesus, seeing Him more clearly day by day?

Pray, “Father, please purify my heart. I want to know Jesus intimately; to see Him, to be more like Him. I ask in Jesus name.”

Our Father is faithful and will answer this cry from a heart hungry for greater intimacy with Jesus. The Holy Spirit of truth will continually guide us into this glorious reality as we yield to Him.
